Final Paleo Retest Fran for time: 21-15-9 thrusters pull ups This marks the end of  the paleo challenge.  Give it all you've got and congratulations to each and every one of you who made it this far.  Please offer us feedback of the challenge to events@crossfitglasgow.com and make sure you have had all your measurements and photos taken.  A summary of your performance will be written up of the next month and a binded copy will be handed to each and every one of you. Saturday 11am - Girls WOD.  This class will be led by Nisha and Laura is free for all females to attend. Workout of the Day Bleep! This is the second last paleo retest, focus and give your all. Thursday night there is no 19.15 class, mobility is on instead and costs £3 per person.  This class lasts an hour and is open to anyone and everyone. Saturday 11am is Girls WOD, it will be ran by Nisha.

Paleo Challenge Cycle 5

The CrossFit Glasgow Paleo Challenge is about to enter its 5th cycle. We have continued to amass knowledge and expertise from the world's best including: Robb Wolf, Chris Kresser, Stephanie Gaudreau McCormack, Dallas Hartwig, Diane San Filippo and John Welbourne, in order to bring you the very best of contemporary Paleo and sports performance nutrition knowledge. The Challenge will cost £125 and will consist of a seminar detailing the rationale for the contemporary paleo diet, the biological underpinnings of the diet, the criticisms and health implications of a mismanaged Paleo paradigm and will outline the specifics of the Challenge. The Challenge will last 90 days and is a serious endeavour for those who wish to attempt it - if you are unable to make a substantial commitment of time and effort to the program, we would strongly suggest that you take some time to evaluate whether this is the right time for you. The seminar will take place on the 31st of August and is open to any of our athletes who want to learn about the Paleo diet and embark on 90 day challenge with regular anthropometric testing, scored WODs and sweet prizes.

Happy new year from CFG! The gym is still operating on limited hours for the rest of this week so be sure to check the times to the right.  We will be operating an 'open gym' for the rest of this week (Thursday onwards) in order to give us time to complete the work that is going on.  If any of you love to tile or plaster, let us know, as for all the offers for painting, you time will come (end of Jan). We really appreciate your patience during these necessary changes and we hope that you'll enjoy the new look facility and the exciting possibilities it gives us for programming. From Monday 7th we hope to be back to regular working hours.  There is no mobility.  No Olympic lifting.  On the weekend there will be a girls WOD at 11 on Saturday that will tackle problem lifts and pullup and muscle up progressions and Sunday there will be a hero WOD written up for you all to have a go at between 10 and 1. Fundamentals starts up on Monday 14th.  There will be a few changes, the presses and deadlifts class will be merged and we are cutting it down to 2 classes per day, Monday to Thursday.  06.15 and 17.30.  A timetable will be posted shortly. Today is day 45, half way for the Palaeo Challenge!  For those on the challenge, make sure you get your photos, tests and measurements completed by the end of the week, if you are not going to be able to do so, for whatever reason, please get in touch with us ASAP.  We also have the CrossFit Games Open starting on Thursday so be sure to register and affiliate with us, we have 50 athletes so far! Tonight at 7.15pm Jonny is taking a mobility class, it's only £3 per person, this is a perfect chance to loosen up in preparation for the Open as well as a great chance to prepare for Fran on Friday (the 3rd and final PS retest). WOD CrossFit Total 3 Attempts to reach a Single Rep Maximum (1RM) in the following lifts: Strict Press Back Squat Deadlift   This WOD marks the start of the retest phase for the Paleo Spartans. We will have your previous scores to hand when you come down so that you'll know how much you've improved. Get in and give it your all, this is what you've been working for. CrossFit Glasgow has been given the go ahead from SWL to host the 2012 Scottish Weightlifting Open. This is a major event on the British Weightlifting calendar with both Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes likely to make an appearance. If you wish to compete this year please make sure that you affiliate through the CFG Spartans Weightlifting Club and collect an application form for the competition itself. If you feel that you are not yet up to scratch on your Olympic lifts then make sure you attend this week's coaching session on Tuesday night at 8pm. Jonny's mobility classes continue this week with more structured torture for the inflexible, and the Conditioning for Parkour classes will go ahead as normal on Thursday. These classes are filling up rapidly so get your names up on the board to avoid disappointment. There are now 45 members of the box signed up to the Games Open.
