Workout of the Day In pairs, for time: 40 deadlifts then 3 rounds of: block run (both run, 1 person must carry a 30/20lb medball) 15 cleans   Tonight there is no 19.15 WOD.  Weightlifting with Colette Will is on in it's place.  This class costs £3 per person and lasts an hour, you do not need to be a member to attend nor do you need to be any specific standard to take a lot of technical points away from this class. Tuesday and Wednesday there is a 10.15 WOD.

10.15 WOD will run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week   Workout of the Day A. 60s row 22/18 kcal 20s rest 40s max ring dips 60s rest 3 rounds   B. 2min AMRAP 200m run max wallballs 60s rest 3 rounds   This week we welcome back Stew Mac!  Good to have you back in the WODs buddy! Tuesday - 19.15 is weightlifting instead of the WOD.  This class costs just £3 and lasts an hour.  It will focus on the snatch and the clean and jerk.  It is taught by Colette Will and will improve people of all ability levels.  You do not need to be a member of CFG to attend nor are you required to book in.  Just turn up! Saturday - 11.00 CrossFit Kids and 11.15 is Girls WOD. Next week - Friday 29th @ 18.30 - we will be having a strongman challenge with Rob Orlando.  For people of all experience levels this social night will feature some workouts, food and drinks as well as access to purchase Rob's Hybrid apparel.  This is a great chance to meet Rob if you are not going to the seminar on Saturday as well a really fun event.

Workout of the Day Yoke carry Sled drags   - these are unfamiliar movements for many, even though they are 'strongman' exercises you are certainly not required to be a man nor strong to participate and benefit from this method of training at CFG.  So if you haven't done it before, come in and give it a go! By now many of you will have read our page regarding the Competitor Cell. We have had numerous queries regarding the validation process and we feel that it is necessary to be clear about this to avoid any confusion: The competitor cell is open to anyone who has achieved a prerequisite level of strength and general athleticism and wishes to take their training to a competitive level. In order to demonstrate that you have achieved this level, you are able to register your interest via info@crossfitglasgow.com and to purchase a score card from the coaching staff. The scorecard will list all the necessary numbers for the strength and gymnastic movements required for progression to the Competitor Cell and will cost £5. This fee reflects the additional coaching time that will be spent observing and coaching movements in the validation of your scores. Workout of the Day In teams of 3 A. 10mins to each find your 1RM push press.  Score = team kg. B. For time: 1500m row (500m each) C. 10min AMRAP 21-15-9 light thruster heavy kbs games press ups   There is a new 10.15 class today!  Next week the same class will be made available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  This is a trial period only.  If it is not popular it will be dropped. August 30th - Strongman seminar with Rob Orlando.  This is a day long event (9-4) that involves a lot of lifting and a lot of learning.  You will be shown, be taught and will experience using strongman equipment in a fun and supportive atmosphere.  This class is for people of all abilities and all ages.  Don't be fooled by the title, it is not just for the men, we have weights and tyres of all sizes to suit people of all ability levels.  Link here August 30th - SFN Expo at the SECC.  This fitness event has a CrossFit competition on during the day organised by Gavin, it will involve teams from CFG, CFEK, MTS, Basix (CF Scotland), Fife and FFD.  There will be 2x AM events and 2x PM events, it will run from around 09.30-17.00.  Spectators are welcome and tickets are on the website and probably on the door too. Workout of the Day A. Pull-up progressions B. 2 sets of max rep chest to bar (kipping/butterfly allowed) C. For time: 15kcal row 20 box jumps 25 k2e 30 wallballs block run Rest 2mins 3rounds.   This week we will be looking to introduce a new class at 10.15 AM on Wednesday only.  If this class is popular we will run it on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday the following week. Tuesday night is Olympic lifting, this class will run in place of the 19.15 class and costs just £3 to be taught by Colette Will. Soon CFG will be hosting a Strongman Seminar.  This event is one of the best CrossFit has to offer and we are very lucky to have Rob Orlando himself in attendance.  This seminar is not just for coaches, it will teach you how to perform a variety of strongman lifts, how to program it and also how to enjoy it with your regular CrossFit training.

Ring dips 3x max reps C. 20min running clock, every 5mins do: Block run 8 deadlifts 120/65 Max burpees over the bar   This Saturday - 11.00 - CrossFit Kids &  11.15 - Girls WOD August 30th we are hosting the Strongman Seminar.  This is one of the best and one of the cheapest CrossFit seminars available.  It isn't just for CF coaches either, if you have an interest in improving your health and fitness then this applies as much to you as anyone else.  Strongman training requires no super strength, nor does it require you to be male to enjoy it.  It is a back-to-basics type of training that anyone of any flexibility and ability can master almost immediately.  Taught by Rob Orlando this course will leave you feeling excited about training again and open your mind to a world of training possibilities.  To sign up please use this link

Workout of the Day A. 3 rounds for quality: 10 strict hspu 10 chest to bar pull-ups B. 10min ladder 3-6-9-12-15 .... toes to bar 15 goblet squats between each set of toes to bar.   Remember, you are not required to manage any of these movements or rep schemes Rx in order to attend the WOD today.  That's the purpose or training, to learn, progress and improve!
