WOD Tuesday 1st July ’14

Workout of the Day 5 rounds for time 5 cleans 7 chest to bar pull-ups Tonight there is no 19.15 WOD.  A weightlifting class will run in it's place.  This will be taught by Colette Will and costs just £3 per person.  You do not need to be a member of CFG to attend.  There is no minimum standard for this class and it will focus on improving your technique in the snatch and clean and jerk. August 30th Rob Orlando will be returning for another Strongman Seminar at CFG!  This day long course is one of our personal favourites as it is not only a 'hands on' seminar but it is technique intensive to help you with tackle awkward objects like atlas stones and logs.  Like everything in CrossFit there is no minimum standard to attend this seminar, no matter your experience level (you do not need to be a CF coach) you will take a multitude of training tips and advice away with you.    Please check the right hand bar for payment and details.  This should not be missed! Workout of the Day Team 20min AMRAP: 3 burpee box jump overs 10 deadlifts 100/55 3 burpee box jump overs 200m row - Scale weight as required. - Minimum team size of 3.  You do not need to turn up in a team to participate, the teams will be picked by the coaches. Have a friend who wants to join CFG?  Fundamentals is on the 12th and 13th of July.  Make sure they get in touch with us at fundamentals@crossfitglasgow.com Tuesday 19.15 we have Olympic lifting with Colette Will.  This class is open to everyone, you do not need to be a member to attend, and costs just £3 per person. Thursday there will be no mobility class.  WODs will run at regular hours. This week we welcome back Steph and Nisha!  They will resume their regular hours from today!

Workout of the Day 12min AMRAP Ascending ladder burpees then max thrusters Thursday there is no 19.15 class.  Mobility with Jonny Kilpatrick will be on instead.  This class teaches you how to take care of your body so you can continue to enjoy your training pain free.  Using a variety of methods from stretching to myofascial release you will leave more mobile and with a better understanding of how to manage your aches and pains.  Class costs £3 per person and lasts an hour.  You do not need to be a member of CFG to attend.

Workout of the Day 3 rounds for time: block run 10 power cleans 70/45 15 pull ups Tonight there is no 19.15 class.  Olympic lifting will be on instead.  This class is taught by one of Scotland's best weightlifters Colette Will, she is also, despite her young age, an IWF referee and highly qualified coach.  Class costs just £3 per person and you do not need to be a member of CFG to attend.

Workout of the Day In pairs, for time: block run 25 kcal row 20 heavy wallballs 15 burpee box jumps 40/30 thrusters Whilst one works the other does a zercher hold. This week we have both archways open.  The second will operate as a facility for open gym for the next few weeks until Gavin has returned from holiday.  Please keep it tidy. Tuesday 19.15 there is no WOD, Olympic Lifting with Colette Will is on instead. Thursday 19.15 there is no WOD, mobility with Jonny Kilpatrick is on instead. This weekend there is no CrossFit Kids but Girls WOD will be on as normal. Augusy 30th CFG is hosting a CrossFit Strongman Seminar with Rob Orlando himself.  This is a brilliant and cost effective method of learning all the main lifts utilised in strongman events.  Logs, stones, kegs, farmers, yokes, tyre flips are all included and much more.  Find a review below: Rob and his coaches we're brilliant, the practical teaching, mixed in with small discussions and some great humour was brilliant. As one of only two females on the course, I never felt out of place nor individualised. I have been on many male dominant courses before where instructors have often said ladies start here when working through certain movements and weights and have received a more 'delicate' approach. Workout of the Day For time: 5-10-15-20 heavy wallballs heavy swings chest to bar pull ups Remember we can always scale every movement and the term 'heavy' is relative. Well done to all those that took part in yesterday's Team WOD.  Once again it was an incredible atmosphere and some inspiring displays of effort were on display!
