13.2 information

13.2 With the announcement of 13.2 the format at the gym will be much the same as 13.1. We will run it as the regular WOD all day Friday and those that cannot make it can come in on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday to get judged. In order to accommodate so many people and for judging to go smoothly please bear in mind the following: - weekend hours are as normal. Saturday 9-12. Sunday 10-1. - you must enter your score onto the games website for us to validate it. - please go to the toilet, put on lifting shoes, tape up etc prior to the WOD starting. - be on time, be considerate of others, do not try and foam roll under someone lifting. - on weekends write your name into a heat slot and stick to it. - keep yourself warm or warm up by yourself. There will be warm up ideas posted on the walls, it will all be stuff you have done before, don't wait for us to tell you. - tidy up your station after you finish. Spray the bar if you bled, mop up sweat and water etc. - cheer on others! Games Open WOD 13.2 Released Games Open workout 13.2 will be run as the WOD on Friday: all athletes are asked to turn up promptly to the class times and to bring all necessary kit. Wrist wraps, Voodoo Floss bands, tape and speed ropes will be available for purchase for those that require them. The Saturday and Sunday open gym sessions will be suspended to run heats of the Games WOD for all athletes. Please be prompt and sign up to one of the heats on the board as soon as you arrive. Any athlete who wishes to judge should first complete the Online Judges Course via the CrossFit Games site and should ideally have either coaching or competition experience. Level 1 CrossFit trainers are not required to complete the Online Judges Course unless they wish to be considered for judging duties at Regionals in Denmark. There are 183 athletes registered for the Games from our box: Be on time, be prepared and be awesome. WOD Today we will be screening the WOD announcement at the start of each class to show you what you have in store. The session will take an open gym format with coaches on hand to help guide you through the skills required to complete Games Open workout 13.2. WOD In pairs: 4min AMRAP 5 clapping press ups 15 heavy swings 30 wallballs For 2 rounds then : Max reps in remaining time lateral box jumps (20") Rest 2 mins Repeat. Only one person does the 5/15/30 x2 and the other does the lateral box jumps per round. Then swap over each round. 4 rounds of the AMRAP (2x buy-in and 2x box jumps per person) Post total lateral box jumps per pair.

WOD For time: 2x block run then: 5 rounds of: 5 thrusters 70/50 10 k2e 15 box jumps Tonight:  Olympic Lifting is on instead of the 19.15 WOD.  If you found 13.1 tough then you should make it along to this class and brush up on your lifts.  Cleans have come up every year in the Open so this is one of your last chances to practice! Thursday:  Mobility at 19.15.  Address those range of motion issues before the 13.2 Open workout on Friday. Friday: 13.2.  As the WOD, come in on time and warm up.  Be sure to cheer one another on, remember we can scale and you will get a good workout regardless of ability!

WOD 3x 5 back squat 3x 3 push press - between sets of push press do a single attempt of max strict pull ups or weighted pull ups. Then: 4min max OH lunges 20/15 Once again, we want to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU to everyone involved in a long and challenging weekend.  A special thanks to all the volunteer judges, the crowds of support and all the photos (remember you can send them in using the app and we can make sliders of them for the website!). A special thanks to Mat and Anna for all the amazing photographs. We are currently looking to buy new kit and are finishing off the refurbishments at the gym. CrossFit Games Open 13.1 Proceed through the sequence below completing as many reps as possible in 17 minutes of: 40 Burpees 75 pound Snatch, 30 reps 30 Burpees 135 pound Snatch, 30 reps 20 Burpees 165 pound Snatch, 30 reps 10 burpees 210 pound Snatch, as many reps as possible Please show up at regular WOD hours and be ready to work in heats.  Cheer on others who are competing.  The weekend opening hours will not be changed but there will be no open gym, just the Games Open 13.1 WOD.  You must post your own score for us to validate it!

It is here. We've waited a year for this day to come and it is finally upon us. The Reebok CrossFit Games 2013 has arrived and as of this moment every one of the 174 members that has registered so far is officially a competitive athlete. Whether this is your first year or you are a Games veteran, whether you have just completed your fundamentals or you have competed at Regionals: these are your Games and nobody's score means anything except your own. If you simply give everything you can. If you give your biggest lift, your fastest time or just hold on until the timer hits zero: you will know you have done your all, and nobody can take that from you. CrossFit Glasgow, you are ready. Congratulations to Kirk yesterday on achieving his first muscle up!  Great timing right before the Open! We hope to have more skipping ropes back in stock from later today, £22.50 for the Again Faster ropes, these are the best we have used. Last but not least, we are very happy to announce that Steph Dekker has become CFG's first full-time employee!  As we move into 2013 we are planning many new events and services.  Look out for CrossFit Kids, strongman classes and seminars.
