Gym Times Sunday 26th

By |2012-02-25T20:32:02+00:00February 25th, 2012|Information|

CrossFit Glasgow will be open from 9am and we will be looking to get the last of the Burpees completed. If you have not registered your scores by the end of tomorrow they will not be validated for the Open. So make sure you post your score up on the Games website and Gavin will accept it. Team WOD will run as planned at about 11, depending on numbers that need to do the Burpees. Please be prompt as we do not need it running all day. Later this week, Iain leaves on holiday for 10 days. 1st - 10th. During this time the gym may be closed at lunchtimes or during open gym times. Coaches and staff will be stretched so please bear in mind some Fundamentals and speciality classes will likely be cancelled. The next Open WOD comes out on Thursday so rest up and get ready!

WOD Saturday 26th Feb ’12

By |2012-02-25T07:38:19+00:00February 25th, 2012|WOD|

Today and tomorrow we are going to try and rattle out the last of the judging and scores we will open at 9am today and 10am Sunday, this is a new thing for us coaches as well so we will not be programming WODs.  However, for those that have done their burpees or are not taking part, the gym will be open and we will also put up a WOD to get on with in an open gym environment. For everyone who is yet to register for the Games, get on it, get on it now.  The first event is just burpees and every member counts for us. As we get something for having the most members in Europe, which we are close to obtaining, so let's show everyone how close-knit a gym we are and come down and partake in the Open.  You don't have to come top, you just have to do your best and know you are a better athlete from the experience of digging deep. WOD 7min AMRAP Burpees OR 7min AMRAP 3 power cleans 75/50 20 wall balls On a final note:  some of you may have noticed that Steve has been missing for a few months (the guy on the right in the slider image), he has been away training for the fire service in Gullane and finishes in just a few weeks.  He has been placed at Polmadie so expect to see him about a lot more often.  Congratulations Steve!

Register for the CrossFit Games

By |2012-02-22T13:26:57+00:00February 22nd, 2012|WOD|

CrossFit  Glasgow   Could   Rank   in   Top   10   of   Most   Registered   Athletes   2012   If you have not done so yet, please register for the Crossfit Games Open at the link below. There is a prize awarded to the team with the most athletes registered to the games and although I'm pretty certain we won't come first (Crossfit NYC have 280 registered athletes), 5th position currently sits at 83 athletes and we have 52 signed up so far. It would be great to see ourselves in the top 10 and I believe it's totally achievable. So if you haven't signed up yet, ask yourself: why not? The open is set up so that anyone can take part and even if your WODs are scaled you will be able to see how you are placed amongst the 50,000 predicted athletes taking part. The Open WOD will be programmed on a Thursday each week and in order to ensure as many athletes are judged by a level 1 coach as possible we will probably extend this to cover Saturdays and Sundays too. GET INVOLVED!! Sign Up Now

Bleep Test

By |2012-02-22T11:48:05+00:00February 22nd, 2012|Information|

Due to the size of the gym and the type of test, those that come into the gym during WOD time will be doing the WOD.  There is not enough room to have others lifting whilst the bleep test runs.  So get involved... or hide.
